BPI-9205 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Beta Pharma that simultaneously targets Leukocyte surface antigen CD47 and Programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1). CD47 is an antiphagocytic signal, often referred to as a "don't eat me" signal, which is frequently overexpressed on cancer cells to evade macrophage-mediated destruction. PD-L1 is a well-characterized immune checkpoint protein that interacts with PD-1 on T-cells to suppress adaptive immune responses. By dual-targeting these pathways, BPI-9205 is designed to enhance both innate and adaptive immunity against tumors, promoting macrophage phagocytosis and T-cell activation. It is currently in early-stage development for the treatment of various cancers.
