Overview

BPI-9304A is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Beta Pharma (Betta Pharmaceuticals) for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The therapeutic consists of a monoclonal antibody targeting Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2) conjugated to a cytotoxic payload. Claudin 18.2 is a tight junction protein that is highly and selectively expressed in various epithelial cancers, including gastric, esophageal, and pancreatic cancers, while its expression in normal tissues is restricted to the gastric mucosa. This expression profile makes it an ideal target for ADC-based therapies. Upon binding to CLDN18.2 on the surface of tumor cells, BPI-9304A is internalized, allowing for the intracellular release of its cytotoxic agent to induce cell death while sparing healthy cells. The drug has received Investigational New Drug (IND) approval and is currently in early-stage clinical development.
