BPL-002

**BPL-002** is a liquid intranasal formulation of **5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (5-MeO-DMT)**, a potent short-acting psychedelic tryptamine, developed by **Beckley Psytech** for potential psychiatric applications. As a distinct formulation from the more advanced dry powder benzoate salt version **BPL-003**, BPL-002 is undergoing early clinical evaluation, with a dedicated Phase 1 study assessing its safety and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers. 5-MeO-DMT acts primarily as an agonist at the **5-HT1A receptor**, inducing rapid-onset, short-duration (<2 hours) mystical-type experiences that may support therapeutic outcomes in conditions like treatment-resistant depression (TRD), similar to BPL-003's profile in Phase 2 trials.[3]
