Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BPM-CA-001 is a monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, currently under development by Baiya Phytopharm. As a checkpoint inhibitor, it is designed to block the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2), thereby restoring the anti-tumor activity of T cells. The drug is produced using Baiya's proprietary plant-based expression platform (BaiyaPhyto®), which utilizes tobacco plants for the rapid and scalable production of recombinant proteins. BPM-CA-001 is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development for undisclosed indications, likely within the field of oncology given its mechanism of action.
