Overview

BPM31510 is a lipid-drug conjugate nanodispersion specifically formulated to deliver supraphysiological concentrations of ubidecarenone (oxidized coenzyme Q10, also known as CoQ10) to target cancer cell metabolism. By shifting tumor bioenergetics from glycolytic (lactate-dependent) pathways toward mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OxPhos), BPM31510 increases mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in tumor cells, leading to apoptosis. This mechanism exploits the metabolic vulnerabilities of cancer cells while sparing normal tissues. BPM31510 has been investigated in both intravenous and topical formulations for various indications including advanced pancreatic cancer, high-grade glioma/glioblastoma multiforme, and epidermolysis bullosa. The drug has demonstrated potential as a chemotherapy and radiation sensitizer with manageable side effects[1][2][3][6][8].
