Overview

BPR6K471 is a pyrimidine-based small molecule inhibitor of Aurora kinases developed by the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) in Taiwan. It is designed to target both the bulk tumor cells and the cancer stem cell (CSC) subpopulation in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Preclinical studies have demonstrated that BPR6K471 potently inhibits Aurora kinase activity, leading to reduced expression of stemness markers such as CD133, OCT4, MYC, and Nestin. In vivo, the compound has shown significant tumor growth inhibition in SCLC xenograft models when administered intravenously.
