Overview

BR005-036C is an orally bioavailable small molecule calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor antagonist being developed by Xiyuan Anjian (Beijing) Medicine for the treatment of migraine. CGRP is a potent neuropeptide that plays a key role in the pathophysiology of migraine by mediating vasodilation and pain transmission in the trigeminovascular system. By blocking the CGRP receptor, BR005-036C aims to provide relief from acute migraine attacks and potentially prevent their occurrence. It belongs to the "gepant" class of migraine medications and is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in China, including Phase 2 trials for acute treatment.
