Bradycor

Bradycor (deltibant) is a small molecule bradykinin B2 receptor antagonist originally developed by Cortech and later in collaboration with GSK (formerly SmithKline Beecham). The drug was designed to treat conditions characterized by excessive bradykinin activity, which leads to vasodilation, increased vascular permeability, and inflammation. It was primarily investigated for the treatment of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), sepsis, burns, and multiple trauma. In Phase II clinical trials for TBI, Bradycor demonstrated the ability to reduce brain swelling and intracranial pressure, showing positive trends in functional outcomes and mortality reduction. Despite these findings, the development of the drug was ultimately discontinued. It was typically administered via continuous intravenous infusion.
