Overview

This is a combination of two biologically active peptides, bradykinin and insulin. Bradykinin is an endogenous nonapeptide that acts as a potent vasodilator and modulator of inflammation, primarily through activation of the bradykinin B2 receptor. It has been shown to enhance insulin sensitivity by augmenting insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in adipocytes via nitric oxide–dependent pathways and by enhancing downstream signaling events such as IRS-1 phosphorylation and GLUT4 translocation[3][4]. Insulin is a peptide hormone produced by pancreatic beta cells, essential for glucose homeostasis; it lowers blood glucose levels by promoting cellular uptake of glucose, especially in muscle and adipose tissue[6]. The combination has not been developed or marketed as a pharmaceutical product but has been studied experimentally to investigate their interactions on vascular tone, endothelial function, and metabolic effects. Notably, co-administration studies suggest that while bradykinin can enhance insulin action on glucose transport (improving sensitivity), high levels of insulin may attenuate some vasodilatory actions of bradykinin[1][4]. There are no approved drugs or commercial products containing both agents together.
