Braegen-03

Braegen-03 is an orally bioavailable, brain-penetrant, small molecule inhibitor of legumain (also known as asparagine endopeptidase [AEP] or δ-secretase) being developed by Shenzhen Boruijian Pharmaceutical and Shanghai Braegen Pharmaceuticals. Legumain is a cysteine protease that is activated in an age-dependent manner and is implicated in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, depression, and schizophrenia, by cleaving key proteins such as tau and amyloid precursor protein (APP). Braegen-03 is currently in preclinical and IND-enabling development, with completed preclinical candidate (PCC) validation.
