Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bran-fried Atractylodes Rhizome is a processed traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal material prepared by stir-frying clean slices of Atractylodes rhizome (typically sourced from *Atractylodes lancea*, *Atractylodes chinensis*, or *Atractylodes macrocephala*) with wheat bran until the surface turns deep yellow. This traditional processing method (known as "bran-frying" or "Fu Chao") is designed to reduce the herb's inherent dryness and enhance its spleen-tonifying, dampness-dispelling, and antidiarrheal activities. It is commonly used in TCM to treat spleen deficiency, dampness-related digestive complaints, and diarrhea, and has been studied for its therapeutic potential in gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcerative colitis and gastric ulcers.
