Overview
Bravecto Plus is a veterinary combination drug containing fluralaner and moxidectin, formulated as a topical solution for cats. Fluralaner is an ectoparasiticide from the isoxazoline class that acts systemically to kill fleas and ticks by antagonizing ligand-gated chloride channels (GABA-receptor and glutamate-receptor) in arthropods. Moxidectin is an endectocide of the milbemycin group (macrocyclic lactones), which binds to GABA- and glutamate-gated chloride channels in parasites, causing hyperpolarization, paralysis, and death. The combination provides broad-spectrum protection against external parasites (fleas, ticks) as well as internal parasites (heartworm larvae Dirofilaria immitis; intestinal roundworms Toxocara cati; hookworms Ancylostoma tubaeforme). It offers extended duration of action—up to two months with one application—and has demonstrated high efficacy even against flea populations resistant to other treatments[1][2][3][4][5].
