BRCA2 siRNA (short interfering RNA targeting breast cancer susceptibility gene 2) is a double-stranded RNA molecule designed to specifically knock down the expression of the BRCA2 gene. In research settings, it is widely used to study the effects of BRCA2 deficiency on DNA repair, genomic stability, and cellular sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents or PARP inhibitors. Preclinically, BRCA2 siRNA has been investigated as a therapeutic strategy to induce 'complementary lethality' in cancer cells, sensitizing them to chemotherapies (such as cisplatin) and radiotherapy by impairing homologous recombination repair.
