Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BRCX014 is a specific formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) being developed by Leaf Vertical Inc. for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and other cancers. As a small molecule therapeutic, it is being investigated as an adjunct to standard-of-care treatments, including temozolomide-based chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and alternating electric-field therapy (Optune). The drug is particularly focused on glioblastoma patients with non-methylated MGMT promoter status, a population typically resistant to standard alkylating agents. BRCX014 is hypothesized to exert anti-tumor effects by modulating various cell signaling pathways, inhibiting angiogenesis, inducing apoptosis, and potentially sensitizing glioma cells to conventional chemotherapy.
