Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BRCX014 + temozolomide is an investigational combination therapy being developed by Leaf Vertical Inc. for the treatment of glioblastoma (GBM). BRCX014 is a proprietary cannabinoid formulation containing cannabidiol (CBD). Temozolomide is a standard-of-care DNA alkylating chemotherapy agent. The combination is designed to leverage the potential anti-tumor effects of cannabinoids—such as modulating cell signaling pathways, inhibiting angiogenesis, and inducing apoptosis—to enhance the efficacy of temozolomide and potentially overcome chemotherapy resistance in patients with glioblastoma, particularly those with non-methylated MGMT gene status. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial (NCT03687034) to assess safety and pharmacokinetics when administered alongside standard-of-care chemoradiation.
