BRE-AD01 is an investigational exosome-based therapy developed by Brexogen for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. The therapy is produced from stem cells (referred to as 'BxC') that are stimulated with a specified, clinically available compound, forming the backbone of Brexogen's proprietary technology. In preclinical models, BRE-AD01 demonstrated superior therapeutic effects compared to existing treatments such as Dupixent (dupilumab), JAK inhibitors, and steroids. Notably, no adverse events were observed in animal studies treated with BRE-AD01. The drug operates through multiple mechanisms of action including suppression of type 2 immune responses, regulation of interleukin 31 receptor (IL-31R), and promotion of skin barrier recovery—each contributing to improved symptoms in atopic dermatitis patients. As the first exosome-based therapy for atopic dermatitis to enter clinical trials in major countries, it represents a novel approach leveraging cell-derived vesicles for immunomodulation and tissue repair[1][2][3][4][6][8].
