Overview

BreathRx Antibacterial Spray is an over-the-counter oral care product developed by Philips (under the Sonicare brand) for the treatment and prevention of halitosis (oral malodor). The formulation features 0.075% cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), a quaternary ammonium antiseptic that acts by disrupting the cell membranes of gram-negative anaerobic bacteria responsible for producing volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs). Additionally, the spray incorporates ZYTEX, a proprietary blend of zinc gluconate, eucalyptus oil, and thymol, which works to neutralize existing VSCs. The product is 100% alcohol-free and is designed for topical oral use, often in combination with mechanical tongue cleaning systems like the Sonicare TongueCare+.
