Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Brekiya is an autoinjector developed by Amneal Pharmaceuticals that delivers dihydroergotamine mesylate (DHE) for the acute treatment of migraine (with or without aura) and cluster headaches in adults. It is the first and only DHE autoinjector, providing a ready-to-use, self-administered subcutaneous injection. DHE works by binding to 5-HT1Dα and 5-HT1Dβ receptors, causing vasoconstriction of cranial blood vessels and inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory neuropeptides.
