Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Brenipatide (LY3537031) is an investigational biologic drug developed by Eli Lilly and Company that functions as a dual agonist of the gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptor and the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of uncontrolled moderate to severe asthma, where it is hypothesized to reduce airway inflammation. Administered as a once-monthly subcutaneous injection, brenipatide is also under investigation for a wide range of other conditions, including obesity, metabolic disorders, and certain neuropsychiatric conditions, with some indications reaching Phase 3 development.
