Overview

BRI-301 is a small-molecule therapeutic candidate being developed by BRI Pharma, a Japanese biotechnology company focused on neurodegenerative diseases. It acts through a novel multi-target mechanism as an activator of T-type calcium channels, calmodulin-dependent protein kinase (CaMK), and the proteasome. This triple-action approach is designed to provide disease-modifying effects by enhancing synaptic function and promoting the clearance of pathogenic protein aggregates. BRI-301 is currently the lead candidate in BRI Pharma's pipeline and is being investigated for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD), Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB), Parkinson's disease (PD), dystonia, and depression.
