Bria-Lung is an off-the-shelf, whole-cell immunotherapy being developed by BriaCell Therapeutics for the treatment of lung cancer. Based on the company's proprietary Bria-IMT™ platform, Bria-Lung consists of irradiated human lung cancer cells that have been genetically engineered to express multiple tumor antigens and secrete Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF). The therapy is designed to be HLA-matched to patients to optimize the stimulation of the immune system. Once administered, the secreted GM-CSF recruits and activates dendritic cells, which then internalize the tumor antigens from the Bria-Lung cells and present them to T cells, thereby inducing a potent and specific anti-tumor immune response against the patient's lung cancer.
