Overview

Bridge CAR is a novel Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy system developed by Biosceptre. Unlike conventional CAR T-cell therapies that directly target a single antigen, the Bridge CAR system utilizes an adaptor or "bridge" molecule to connect CAR T-cells to tumor antigens. This innovative approach allows for the simultaneous or sequential targeting of multiple tumor antigens, which can help overcome challenges like antigen escape and heterogeneity in solid tumors. The system is designed to split CAR T-cell activation and antigen recognition, potentially preventing T-cell exhaustion by allowing titration of the adaptor molecule. Preclinical data has shown its ability to induce strong cytolytic activity against various acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines expressing targets like CD33 and CLL1, and to improve survival rates and reduce tumor growth in in vivo models compared to conventional CAR T-cells.
