brigatinib

Brigatinib is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor used to treat metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in patients with tumors that have an abnormal anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene. It is indicated for use in patients whose disease has progressed on or who are intolerant to crizotinib. Brigatinib acts by inhibiting the activity of ALK, as well as other kinases such as ROS1 and certain mutant forms of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). This inhibition blocks downstream signaling pathways involved in cancer cell proliferation and survival. Brigatinib was originally developed by Ariad Pharmaceuticals, which became a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company.
