Overview

Brilife (IIBR-100) is a replication-competent recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (rVSV) viral vector vaccine developed as a candidate for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine works by replacing the glycoprotein gene of VSV with the spike protein gene from SARS-CoV-2, enabling it to induce an immune response against the coronavirus. It is administered intramuscularly and was developed by the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR), with later partnership from NRx Pharmaceuticals for clinical trials and commercialization. Preclinical studies demonstrated safety and efficacy in animal models, while human clinical trials have evaluated its immunogenicity and safety profile[1][4][7].
