brimonidine + timolol (Allergan)

Britivin is an ophthalmic fixed-dose combination solution containing brimonidine tartrate (0.15% w/v) and timolol maleate (0.5% w/v). Developed and marketed by Zivira Labs, it is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The formulation combines two active ingredients with complementary mechanisms of action to achieve synergistic IOP lowering. Brimonidine is a relatively selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that reduces aqueous humor production and increases uveoscleral outflow. Timolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist that lowers IOP primarily by decreasing aqueous humor secretion from the ciliary body. Together, they provide superior pressure control compared to either monotherapy alone.
