Overview

BRM421 is a synthetic peptide drug developed from the pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) peptide platform. It is designed as a regenerative therapy for dry eye disease (DED), with a unique mechanism of action that stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of corneal limbal stem cells and goblet cells. This promotes corneal repair and improves tear quality in DED patients. The drug has demonstrated rapid symptom relief and corneal healing in clinical trials. Developed by BRIM Biotechnology, it represents a first-in-class approach to treating moderate-to-severe dry eye disease by targeting tissue regeneration rather than just symptomatic relief[1][3][5][8].
