Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Broccoli Sprout-derived Beverage is a dietary supplement formulated from 3-day-old broccoli sprouts, designed to deliver high levels of glucoraphanin and sulforaphane. Sulforaphane is a bioactive isothiocyanate known for its chemopreventive properties and ability to induce cytoprotective enzymes such as glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) via activation of the NRF2 signaling pathway. The beverage has been studied in randomized clinical trials for its potential to enhance detoxification of environmental pollutants like benzene and acrolein by increasing their urinary excretion. It may also have benefits related to cancer prevention, reduction of oxidative stress-induced diseases, modulation of inflammatory markers, and enhancement of antiviral responses[1][3][5][6][7][8][9]. The product is generally well tolerated but may cause digestive upset at high doses.
