Overview
Bromolysergide (2-Br-LSD, BOL-148) is a non-hallucinogenic derivative of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) that acts as a partial agonist at the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2A (5-HT2A) and an antagonist at the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2B (5-HT2B). Originally synthesized by Albert Hofmann in 1957, bromolysergide is being developed as a non-scheduled, orally bioavailable neuroplastogen to promote dendritic and synaptic growth without inducing the hallucinogenic effects or cardiac toxicity associated with classic psychedelics. The drug is currently under clinical development by BetterLife Pharma (as BETR-001) and Ceruvia Lifesciences (as NYPRG-101) for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders, including cluster headache, migraine, major depressive disorder, and substance use disorders.
