Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**brompheniramine + pseudoephedrine** is a fixed-dose combination of two small molecule drugs used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, seasonal allergies, or other upper respiratory conditions. Brompheniramine is an antihistamine of the alkylamine class that acts as a histamine H1 receptor antagonist, reducing allergic responses such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. It also has anticholinergic (drying) and mild sedative effects. Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic decongestant that acts primarily on alpha-adrenergic receptors in nasal mucosa to cause vasoconstriction, thereby reducing nasal congestion. The combination provides symptomatic relief but does not treat underlying infections[3][4][5].
