Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bronchidex is a combination respiratory medication developed and marketed by Stadchem. It is available in two primary formulations: a tablet containing the mucolytic bromhexine hydrochloride, the bronchodilator terbutaline sulfate, and the expectorant guaifenesin; and an oral syrup containing the bronchodilator levosalbutamol sulfate, the expectorant guaifenesin, and the mucolytic ambroxol hydrochloride. Bronchidex is indicated for the symptomatic relief of productive cough, chest congestion, and bronchospasm associated with respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema, smoker's cough, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The active ingredients work synergistically to thin and loosen thick mucus, facilitate its expulsion from the airways, and relax bronchial smooth muscle to ease breathing.
