**Broncol** is a South African Schedule 2 oral cough-linctus product containing dextromethorphan hydrobromide, ammonium chloride, and panthenol. It is marketed for symptomatic relief of productive and non-productive bronchial cough associated with colds, bronchitis, and other respiratory tract disorders. Dextromethorphan provides central antitussive activity; ammonium chloride is used as an expectorant to promote clearance of respiratory secretions; and panthenol is included as a supportive mucosal ingredient.
