Overview

**Broparestrol** is a synthetic, nonsteroidal **selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM)** of the **triphenylethylene** group, chemically described as **α-bromo-α,β-diphenyl-β-p-ethylphenylethylene (BDPE)**. It exhibits slightly **estrogenic** and potently **antiestrogenic** properties, inhibiting mammary gland development and suppressing prolactin levels in animals. Used in Europe as a **dermatological agent** and for **breast cancer** treatment, it is structurally related to clomifene and diethylstilbestrol, and exists as a mixture of **E-** and **Z-isomers** (LN-1643 and LN-2299), both active but never individually marketed.[1][4][7]
