BRTX-100 is an autologous mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy developed by BioRestorative Therapies for the treatment of chronic discogenic pain. The therapy involves harvesting a patient's own stem cells, which are then processed and injected into the affected intervertebral disc to promote tissue regeneration and reduce inflammation. BRTX-100 is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for chronic lumbar disc disease, for which it has received FDA Fast Track designation. The company has also received Investigational New Drug (IND) clearance to expand the clinical program to include chronic cervical discogenic pain. Additionally, BioRestorative is collaborating with Washington University of St. Louis under an NIH grant to evaluate the therapeutic effects of BRTX-100 when encapsulated in a PEG-peptide hydrogel.
