Brucea javanica oil is an extract derived from the seeds of the Brucea javanica plant (Fructus Bruceae), a traditional Chinese medicinal herb. The primary active constituents are quassinoids (notably brusatol and bruceine D), triterpenes, alkaloids, and flavonoids. It has been widely used in Asia as an adjuvant therapy for various cancers—especially gastrointestinal and lung cancers—and for its anti-inflammatory and anti-malarial properties.
