bryophyllin B

Bryophyllin B is a natural bufadienolide, a type of cardiac glycoside, originally isolated from the plant *Bryophyllum pinnatum* (also known as *Kalanchoe pinnata*). As a small molecule research compound with the molecular formula C26H32O9, it has demonstrated cytotoxic properties in vitro and has been the subject of computational (in silico) studies exploring its potential therapeutic roles in cardiovascular disease (specifically atherosclerosis), allergic reactions, cancer, and the cytokine storm associated with COVID-19. Its proposed mechanisms involve the modulation of targets such as adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). Currently, bryophyllin B is not under active pharmaceutical development by any commercial entity and has no clinical approval for any indication.
