BRZ-105 is an mRNA-based therapeutic candidate being developed by BreezeBio (formerly GenEdit) for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases. Utilizing the company's proprietary NanoGalaxy® platform, the drug consists of mRNA encoding multiple autoantigens encapsulated within Hybrid Nanoparticles (HNPs). The mechanism of action involves the targeted delivery of these mRNA sequences to antigen-presenting cells (APCs) to induce antigen-specific immune tolerance, potentially by co-delivering tolerogenic factors. This approach aims to selectively reprogram the immune system to cease its attack on self-tissues without causing broad, systemic immunosuppression. As of early 2024, BRZ-105 is in the lead optimization stage of preclinical development.
