BS-006 is an engineered recombinant oncolytic type II herpes simplex virus (HSV2) developed by Wuhan Binhui Biopharmaceutical. It is designed to selectively infect and lyse tumor cells while sparing normal tissue. The virus has been genetically modified by deleting the ICP34.5 and ICP47 genes, which enhances safety and immune activation in normal cells. Additionally, BS-006 expresses a bispecific T cell engager antibody targeting both CD3 (on T cells) and PD-L1 (on tumor or immune cells), aiming to redirect T cell cytotoxicity toward tumor cells and relieve immunosuppression within the tumor microenvironment. The drug is administered via intratumoral injection and is currently in Phase I clinical trials for multiple solid tumors, including cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and other advanced or metastatic solid tumors[1][2][3][4][5].
