Overview

BS6.890C is a selective histamine H4 receptor (H4R) antagonist developed by Bioprojet-Biotech for the treatment of inflammatory skin disorders, specifically psoriasis. The histamine H4 receptor is primarily expressed on hematopoietic cells, including T cells, mast cells, and dendritic cells, where it mediates chemotaxis and cytokine production. In preclinical studies using a humanized mouse transplant model (BNX mice grafted with non-lesional human skin and injected with superantigen-activated peripheral blood cells), BS6.890C demonstrated the ability to inhibit the development of psoriatic lesions, reduce epidermal thickness, and decrease the infiltration of inflammatory cells. This mechanism targets the inflammatory cascade associated with psoriasis by blocking H4R-mediated recruitment and activation of immune cells in the skin.
