BSA204 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapy developed by Bisirna Therapeutics for the treatment of dyslipidemia, specifically targeting elevated levels of lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]. It functions by utilizing the RNA interference pathway to silence the expression of the *LPA* gene in hepatocytes, which prevents the synthesis of apolipoprotein(a), a key component of the Lp(a) particle. By reducing the production of apolipoprotein(a), BSA204 aims to lower circulating Lp(a) levels, an independent and genetically determined risk factor for cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease and calcific aortic valve stenosis. The drug is currently in early-stage clinical development, with Phase 1 trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic profile in individuals with elevated Lp(a).
