Overview

BSC1302 is a small molecule inhibitor of Receptor-Interacting Protein Kinase 1 (RIPK1) currently in preclinical development by BiSiChem. It is specifically formulated as an eye drop for the treatment of retinal diseases. RIPK1 is a critical signaling protein that regulates programmed cell death (necroptosis) and inflammatory signaling pathways. In the context of retinal diseases, excessive RIPK1 activity is associated with photoreceptor cell loss and neuroinflammation. BSC1302 aims to preserve retinal function by blocking these pathological processes, potentially offering a new therapeutic approach for various degenerative retinal conditions.
