Overview

BSC2201 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of ALK5 (Transforming Growth Factor-beta receptor type 1, TGFBR1) being developed by BiSiChem. It is specifically designed to serve as a payload for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) targeting solid cancers. By inhibiting ALK5, the drug aims to disrupt the TGF-beta signaling pathway, which is frequently implicated in tumor growth, metastasis, and the creation of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. The use of BSC2201 as an ADC payload allows for the targeted delivery of this TGF-beta signaling inhibitor directly to cancer cells, potentially enhancing efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicity.
