Overview

BSG-001 (also known as Syngenon) is an investigational immune-modulating agent developed by Biosyngen for the treatment of malignant pleural effusion (MPE) and malignant ascites. It functions as a Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonist, designed to stimulate the innate immune system and promote an anti-tumor environment within body cavities where malignant cells accumulate. The drug is primarily administered via inhalation in clinical studies to address complications of MPE, though its mechanism is applicable to other effusions like ascites. BSG-001 is currently being evaluated in Phase I/IIa clinical trials to determine its safety, tolerability, and preliminary therapeutic efficacy in patients with advanced cancer presenting with these effusions.
