Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BSL_EP026 is a combination of plant extracts developed for the management of hyperuricemia. It contains flavonoids and rutin, which work synergistically to lower serum uric acid levels. The mechanism involves increasing urinary uric acid excretion through diuretic activity and inhibition of renal tubular reabsorption, elevating urine pH to prevent urate stone formation, and inhibiting the xanthine oxidase-mediated pathway of uric acid production from purines. It has been evaluated in clinical trials for individuals with borderline or moderately high uric acid levels.
