BSS Plus

**BSS Plus** is a preservative-free, sterile intraocular irrigating solution manufactured by Alcon for maintaining a physiologic ocular environment during intraocular surgery. The two-part product is reconstituted immediately before use and contains electrolytes, bicarbonate, dextrose, and oxidized glutathione. It has no discrete molecular target; its intended effect is physicochemical support of ocular tissues by providing an intraocular perfusate with ionic composition, pH buffering, nutrients, and antioxidant capacity suitable for procedures including pars plana vitrectomy, phacoemulsification, cataract extraction or lens aspiration, and anterior-segment reconstruction.
