BST-2227 LAI

BST-2227 LAI (also known as B2227) is a long-acting, extended-release subcutaneous injectable suspension of cariprazine, an atypical antipsychotic. Developed by Bostal Pharma (Bosto Controlled-Release Pharmaceutical) using its proprietary drug delivery platforms, BST-2227 LAI is designed for monthly (1M) and bimonthly (2M) administration to improve patient adherence and provide sustained therapeutic levels. Cariprazine acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and D3 receptors and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors, and as an antagonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. BST-2227 LAI is currently in clinical development for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder, major depressive disorder, and agitation associated with Alzheimer's dementia.
