BST02 is a novel adoptive immune cell therapy based on the expansion of a patient's own tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). It is designed for the treatment of all forms of liver cancer, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma. Unlike traditional TIL therapies, BST02 does not require high doses of interleukin-2 and can be cryopreserved, which simplifies logistics and broadens accessibility. BST02 represents the first TIL cell therapy to reach clinical development for liver cancer globally. The drug is currently being evaluated in phase 1/2 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and initial efficacy in patients with advanced or metastatic liver cancer who have failed or are unsuitable for standard systemic therapies.
