Overview

BST204 is a botanical drug candidate developed by Green Cross Wellbeing for the treatment of cancer cachexia (cancer-induced muscle loss). It is a purified dry extract derived from *Panax ginseng* CA Meyer, enriched with ginsenosides Rg3 and Rh2 through enzymatic treatment and acid hydrolysis. The drug works through multiple mechanisms, primarily by activating the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway to prevent muscle atrophy and promote protein synthesis. Additionally, BST204 reduces systemic inflammatory responses and improves mitochondrial function. Preclinical evidence also suggests it may reduce chemotherapy-related fatigue and suppress cancer stem cell properties. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials.
