Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BSV peptides refers to a research and development program led by PreveCeutical Medical Inc. in collaboration with UniQuest (the commercialization arm of the University of Queensland). The program focuses on the identification and synthesis of 'Nature Identical' peptides derived from the venom of the Caribbean Blue Scorpion (*Rhopalurus junceus*). These peptides are being screened for therapeutic potential in treating aggressive diseases, with a primary focus on glioblastoma (brain cancer). To date, the program has identified four lead peptides that demonstrate inhibitory activity in glioblastoma cell-based assays. The program is currently in the early discovery and preclinical research phase, aiming to develop these venom-derived peptides into targeted biologics for oncology indications with high unmet clinical needs.
