BT-2002 is an individualized neoantigen mRNA vaccine formulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). Developed by Gulou Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University Medical School, it is designed to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by stimulating a patient-specific immune response. The vaccine is customized for each patient by identifying unique tumor mutations (neoantigens) through genomic sequencing and encoding these targets into mRNA. Once administered, the mRNA is translated into neoantigen proteins that are presented to the immune system, activating T cells to recognize and destroy tumor cells. BT-2002 is currently being investigated in Phase I clinical trials for patients with resected early-stage NSCLC and advanced driver-positive NSCLC, both as a monotherapy and in combination with targeted therapies.
