BTM-0512 is a synthetic small molecule derivative of resveratrol that acts as a potent agonist of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1). It has been investigated in preclinical models for its potential anti-obesity and metabolic regulatory effects. Research indicates that BTM-0512 is more effective than resveratrol in reducing body weight, visceral adipose tissue, and blood glucose levels in high-fat diet-induced obese mice. Its mechanism of action involves the activation of SIRT1, which subsequently up-regulates the expression of PRDM16 and uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1), particularly promoting the "browning" or beige remodeling of subcutaneous white adipose tissue.
